New Building

March 2017

In the past 9 months, the shop has almost been completed. This included building the office, workshop, upstairs storage, not to mention the stairs themselves, organizing everything, decorating the office, putting together the workshop, putting down 8 pallets of sod, starting the front landscaping, and the list goes on and on.

Almost a year ago, we started the process of building a much larger and more modern shop to build hot rods and custom cars. Many hurdles had to be jumped, research done, and government agencies to deal with.

Jim Cloud of Cloud Construction in Appling Georgia has a great crew grading the area around the building. The crew put in a septic tank, drain field, water lines, drain lines for downspouts, and lots more. Having gotten plenty of rain to pack down the dirt, we are needing a break so the grading can be completed. Finally walking in the front for the first time.

Electrical is complete. Waiting on the windows and the front door to be installed. Skylights really brighten the place up. Glad we had those installed.

Starting to look like our building. This is getting better and bigger every day.

More steel going up. Never thought this day would come.

Had the slab poured. Big thanks to Robert Wynn, the crew, and Thomson Construction Supply Company for the seemingly endless run of cement trucks. At one point it looked like a parade of trucks there were so many coming and going. Now the giant erector set is going up. This makes is seem real.

The new building finally arrives and is unloaded. That's a lot of parts. Glad to have the professionals at Mid-State Builders putting this up.

April 2016

Finally broke ground. That clay is as hard as concrete. The plumber's crew took 2 days to dig the area for the bathroom. They used shovels and probably should have used a jackhammer. Good ole Georgia clay.

October 2015

This is the land we chose to build on and the new entrance that is a winding driveway through the trees. The shop will now front a major highway and is only minutes from I-20.
